By Dentons Digital

Posted: October 29, 2020

Begin by launching Microsoft Outlook 2016 for Mac.

If you don’t already have an account added on your Outlook App, the app will skip straight to adding a new account for you. Click here to skip to this step.

On the menu bar at the top of the screen, click “Outlook” then click “Preferences”.

Click Accounts.

Tap Add Mail Account by clicking the plus at the bottom left of the screen that pops up.

Fill in the email field and press Continue.

Make sure Sync with Microsoft Cloud is turned off, and choose IMAP as the email type.

Put your email address in the IMAP Username field.
Put your email password in the IMAP Password field. You can click the eye icon to see your password as you type – this helps with any spelling errors.
The IMAP Incoming Server is mail. plus your domain name. Here you can see we’ve used our example email account. dentons1.co.uk.
Fill the Port in as 993.
Ensure Use SSL to connect is ticked.

Put your email address in full for the SMTP Username field.
Put your email password in the SMTP Password field.
The SMTP  Server is mail. plus your domain name, exactly the same as above.
Fill in the Outgoing port as 465.
Ensure Use SSL to connect is ticked.

Once all fields are filled in, click Add Account.

If everything has been filled in correctly, the Outlook App will next ask you if you would like to add another account. If not, simply click Done.

Your email configuration is now complete!

Not getting joinery jobs in nicer areas: what’s holding you back

Missing out on higher-end joinery jobs isn’t about skill, it’s about signals. Homeowners in wealthier postcodes look for proof that you’re reliable, established, and a fit for their home. The fix: reviews, polished photos, and clear presentation that shows your craft deserves their trust (and their budget).

People can’t remember my tiling company after the job: Here’s how to fix it

Doing a great job isn’t enough if people forget your name afterwards. Customers often remember “the tiler” but not which tiler. That means lost referrals, no repeat work, and no word-of-mouth momentum. The fix: build small, simple memory hooks, reviews, photos, tokens, and follow-ups that make your business name stick.

My roofing company looks the same as everyone else: how to stand out

If your roofing business looks like every other van and website in town, you’re forgettable. Customers don’t choose “the same”, they choose the one that feels trusted, proven, and memorable. Standing out doesn’t mean spending thousands on branding. It means showing proof, personality, and professionalism in the right places.
