About the client

This local, independent business offers drain surveys, septic tank inspections and installations, and drain unblocking services for domestic and commercial customers from its base in the city of Bath, covering the surrounding area and most Bristol postcodes.

The company prides itself in having a good reputation for reliability, affordable rates, and a willing attitude – all backed up by a set of excellent reviews on Checkatrade.

The challenge

Owner Jack – a long-standing client of our printed advertising directories – came to us at Dentons Digital because he’d created his own website, but it was not ranking well in the search results for any of the key services offered by his business in their area of operation.

The small amount of traffic the website was attracting was not converting into custom, and Jack was hoping a professionally designed site would be able to encourage site visitors to click that all important “contact us” button.

His need was to ensure his business popped up at the top of the list of results whenever anyone entered a search term relating to drain clearance or drain surveys in the Bath area, because he was well aware he was losing out to local competitors who were far more visible online.

The solution

We quickly set the wheels in motion to create a new, fresh bespoke WordPress website that would clearly showcase the services and skills of The Drain Specialists, with location landing pages that would be search engine optimised to rank for strategic local areas that Jack wished to target.

Jack worked with an assigned project manager and account manager through our tried and tested process, from the initial design concept and approving the content he commissioned, through the development phase until the site was finally launched.

Progress was swift and smooth, even though there was a great deal of work and effort put into the new website, particularly by the SEO team. A set of local pages were added to the site, along with the all-important E-E-A-T (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness and Trustworthiness) content like a page of frequently asked questions, and social proofing in the form of client reviews.

The results

The client was delighted with the look and feel of the new website, but was even more thrilled when he discovered the integrated SEO which we offer as part of a new website build had paid dividends right off of the launch pad. (See the stats below).

Now well-established, with Jack continuing to invest in on-going SEO and keeping his website up-to-date using the built-in simple WordPress CMS, the site continues to rank well for all the key services and locations targeted. Analytics – and the real pace of business – also shows a consistently healthy conversion rate persists via the website.
