A bit of history

In 1967 an enterprising young ex-serviceman called John Denton put in to practice what he hoped would prove to be a great idea. He went around the city of Bath persuading businesses to pay a modest fee to be included in a printed trade and services directory, which he would distribute free to all local residents and Dentons Directories was born – a company that has stood the test of time, passed down to John’s son, Robin Denton.

From the early days of the internet Dentons started building websites for local clients, and had soon put their own searchable national database of trades and services online in the form of dentons.net.

Almost 60 years after that first Bath directory was published, more than 500,000 directories are distributed to more than 50 areas in the South West of England. In addition, Dentons Digital has proven itself as a highly effective, reputable digital marketing agency which currently supports a diverse range of around 500 sole traders, small businesses, professionals and organisations across the region.
