Google Signals is a new Google Analytics Cross Device Report. It will allow marketeers to track users across their devices without breaking the navigation journey of the user.
For example, before having the facility of signals a user visiting your site on a mobile would not be recognised as the same user if he/she converted on a tablet or desktop. This would leave a big hole in your conversion tracking and result in certain channels conversion statistics ending up attributed to direct rather than the actual source.
With signals this will change for any users that have turned on Ads Personalization.
How to activate Google signals?
Google signals is only available for a few users currently but will be rolled out to more during the next few weeks. If you have already been given access once you login to Google analytics you will see a blue bar at the top of the page that states.
“Unlock new cross-device capabilities and more”
Click the get started button to activate it.
You will then be asked if you would like to enable it for all properties in your account or individual accounts.
Once set you will be able to access the reports in your side section labelled “cross device” in the Audence drop down.
Is this going to benefit your conversion tracking let us know in the comments below.
