Posted: October 30, 2020

If you don’t already have an account added on your Outlook App, the app will skip straight to adding a new account for you. Click here to skip to this step.

Launch the Outlook App. Tap the mail icon at the top left to bring up your options:

And tap the cog icon at the bottom, for settings.

Tap Add Mail Account.

Fill in the email field and press Continue.

Next, choose the account type IMAP, at the bottom.

For the Display Name, fill in your name, or your company’s name if preferred.
The description field is just for your phone to help label different accounts & will not show when sending emails. We find the easiest description is just to put the email address in full again.

Put your mail server in the IMAP Incoming Email Server – this is mail. plus your domain name. Here you can see we’ve used our example email dentons1.co.uk.
Fill the Port in as 993.
Put your email address in full for the IMAP Username field.

For the IMAP password, fill in your email password.

Put your mail server in the SMTP Outgoing Email Server – this is mail. plus your domain name. Here you can see we’ve used our example email dentons1.co.uk.
Fill in the Port as 465.

Put your email address in full for the SMTP Username field.
For the SMTP password, fill in your email password.

Note: You can tap the crossed out eye symbols against the password fields to see the password you are typing.

Once you have filled in all fields, tap the tick at the top right of the screen.

If everything has been filled in correctly, the Outlook App will next ask you if you would like to add another account. If not, simply tap Maybe Later.

Not getting joinery jobs in nicer areas: what’s holding you back

Missing out on higher-end joinery jobs isn’t about skill, it’s about signals. Homeowners in wealthier postcodes look for proof that you’re reliable, established, and a fit for their home. The fix: reviews, polished photos, and clear presentation that shows your craft deserves their trust (and their budget).

People can’t remember my tiling company after the job: Here’s how to fix it

Doing a great job isn’t enough if people forget your name afterwards. Customers often remember “the tiler” but not which tiler. That means lost referrals, no repeat work, and no word-of-mouth momentum. The fix: build small, simple memory hooks, reviews, photos, tokens, and follow-ups that make your business name stick.

My roofing company looks the same as everyone else: how to stand out

If your roofing business looks like every other van and website in town, you’re forgettable. Customers don’t choose “the same”, they choose the one that feels trusted, proven, and memorable. Standing out doesn’t mean spending thousands on branding. It means showing proof, personality, and professionalism in the right places.
