About the brand
Elliott’s Butchery is a traditional local butcher selling locally sourced meat with a store in Westbury, Wiltshire.
Andy Elliott has been a butcher for more than 35 years. He has a passion for offering his customers only fully traceable “from farm to fork” locally sourced meat, raised according to the highest welfare standards, from his shop in Westbury High Street, and also for home delivery. He also makes his own sausages, burgers, pies and home cured bacon.
With a loyal local trade Elliott’s Butchery had been thriving in Westbury High Street with their familiar bricks and mortar store, until the advent of the Covid 19 “lockdown” which cut off footfall and confined customers to their homes.
Andy Elliott realised online was the way forward to keep his business healthy during the crisis, so he asked Dentons Digital for a quick turn-around e-commerce site on which he could promote his products, accept orders for home delivery, and receive safe, secure payment.
Having anticipated the need for many small retail businesses to switch to online selling as a matter of urgency during lockdown – and beyond – the creative team at Dentons Digital were ready and waiting with an attractive, functional e-commerce template site, easily adaptable to showcase and sell a wide variety of products.
Andy Elliott was delighted with the template and was forthcoming to help us, helping to provide the information, images and graphics we needed to produce an e-commerce site for him as quickly as possible.
Our content writers filled in the blanks on the home page then the web developers quickly and efficiently uploaded the words and pictures – the site was tested and then open for business within 72 hours from being commissioned!
A Clear Message With A Well-oiled UX
The template e-commerce site we have designed for cases like Elliott’s Butchery is designed to be clear, simple and to the point. Although it is “no frills”, the website displays the goods efficiently, explains the background of the company involved concisely, and manages to convey the important user experience messages of trustworthiness, quality and security that users require from a successful e-commerce site.
It may be a “quickie” solution, but we’re confident that Elliott’s Butchery will continue to reap benefits from their new site into the future, long after Covid 19 is consigned to history.
For Andy Elliott his new e-commerce site has kept his business flourishing despite losing custom at his high street store.
He let his regular customers know they could order through the site online, and word has spread so that he now has numerous new customers placing orders every day.
Backed up by his ability to offer home delivery, he’s discovered the doors are never closed when you’re able to sell online 24/7.
