Supporting Dorothy House
In these unprecedented difficult and uncertain times we’re all doing our bit to look after our families, neighbours and the wider community while we get through the Covid 19 crisis.
Here at Dentons Digital we are continuing to provide full services to our clients with our skilled staff working remotely from home, being aware that they need us now more than ever before to promote their businesses online.
We’re also only too conscious of the fact that we need to help our local communities in other ways – particularly those in the independent charitable caring sector – so we have partnered with the Dorothy House Hospice group which works tirelessly across parts of Wiltshire and north east Somerset (BANES) to bring vital compassionate care.
Emergency Appeal for Covid 19 Victims
Dorothy House provides palliative and end of life care to anyone who needs it in their homes or in their superbly run hospices in our area – and as we all know there are many more than usual who need it right now.
Here at Dentons we recognise that the critical work of Dorothy House has become even more vital in these dreadful times, when they are faced with more patients to care for and their compassionate support is more appreciated and needed than ever.
That is why we’re backing the emergency appeal from our corporate charity partners, Dorothy House, to help them in their quest to increase the amount and level of support they can offer to patients afflicted by the Covid 19 pandemic.
The Dorothy House appeal is best explained by the organisation’s Chief Medical Director, Dr Emma Frampton (who is herself self-isolating due to the Covid 19 Virus), in a heartfelt video filmed in her home.
The Pressures on Dorothy House
Dr Frampton has told us that in response to Covid 19 Dorothy House has had to organise ways of giving remote care to vulnerable patients who are confined at home in isolation, via the telephone and video technology.
Simultaneously the organisation is working with local hospitals and has opened eight new inpatient beds at its Winsley base to care for patients who would otherwise be in hospital.
Meanwhile, the Dorothy House charity shops across the region that provide vital financial support have had to suspend operations. All fund-raising events have also come to a standstill because of the lockdown, cutting off this vital source of funding just when it is needed the most. Dr Frampton says the impact could be “devastating”.
