Elementor is a visual editor, powered by a ‘drag and drop’ interface that allows you to add, edit, move sections, columns and widgets around the page.
When you first click the Edit with Elementor button on any page or post, you will load the Elementor interface, as shown below:
The Elementor interface is comprised of two distinct areas, the left-side panel for adding new content and the page view on the right which shows you all of your page elements.
Elementor Toolbar
By default, the left-side menu shows you a list of available widgets that can be used to create content.
The left-side menu is contextual, so any element you click on will change the view of the menu to the currently selected widget.
Widgets Icon
To view the list of available widgets click on the icon in the top right corner of the toolbar.
Elementor Menu
To view a list of global Elementor settings or to return to the dashboard, click on the icon in the top left of the toolbar.
Settings Icon
To view the page or post settings in Elementor, click on the icon at the bottom of the toolbar.
Navigator Icon
To view the navigator, click on the icon at the bottom of the toolbar.
History Icon
To view the revision history, click on the icon at the bottom of the toolbar.
Responsive Mode Icon
To view the responsive mode, click on the icon at the bottom of the toolbar.
Preview Changes Icon
To preview your changes, click on the icon at the bottom of the toolbar.
Widgets Icon
Elementor uses a variety of widgets to display information on a page or post. Common widgets include headings, text editors and images.
Elementor Menu
The Elementor menu allows you to edit the settings for all of website, not specific to the page or post you are currently creating.
Most of these settings you will not need to change.
Exiting Elementor
You can exit Elementor and return to the main WordPress edit screen by clicking blue Exit to Dashboard button.
If you have not saved your current changes you will be prompted to do so before you leave the page.
Settings Icon
Each page or post has default settings applied. You can view these settings and change the title of the page or layout.
Navigator Icon
The navigator opens a pop-up that shows you the layout of the page in list format. You can move sections and widgets up and down the page by dragging and dropping elements in the navigator.

History Icon
Elementor tracks your history and revisions for any changes you make from the creation of the page or post.

You can view your current page or post design in three responsive modes, desktop, tablet and mobile.
Preview Changes Icon
You can preview the page or post changes in a live browser.
